First time ever going to NYC- I need MAJOR help!

In august I am going to be visiting NYC for the first time ever... It's overwhelming with all the wonderful shopping there, and since I live in the middle of nowhere, all those stores are new to me! Can you ladies suggest any shopping places for me to check out ( one day I want to do window shopping at the super-expensive stores, that I could never afford!) and a few days I want to dedicate to shopping at stores I can actually afford ( H&M, Century 21, etc )... Can you let me know the good places to check out, please?

Also, if there are any sample sales going on, late july/early august, for brands such as juicy, please let me know!
