Chloé wool crepe halter dress & coat, c.1985
The top-line ready-to-wear house of Chloé has been described as luxurious, romantic, and quintessentially French. This marvelous ensemble is an excellent example of the Chloé style. I love the pairing of a classical tailored coat with a sexy, flirty, bias-cut halter dress: refined ladylike styling together with a bombshell dress covers all the bases!
The ensemble is fashioned from lightweight black wool crepe. The wrap-around bias-cut dress is unlined, allowing it to mold to the figure. The dress has long ties, which are tailored. The coat, lined with black China silk, features set-in front pockets. The coat closes in front with portrait buttons.
The coat was originally owned by a New York lady who appreciated cutting-edge design. The labels in the the coat and dress read "Made in France/Chloé."
