I was wondering if anyone has any experience with dying suede shoes?
I'm looking for a particular shoe/bag combo, but can't find the right color, and I'm wondering if it's at all possible to dye them?

I've dyed suede shoes with some success - not perfect, but fine for casual wear. The suede has to be fine-grained, and you have to be careful not to use too much dye. Too much dye will make glossy highlights, like you painted them. Best way to find out is pay the $5 for a bottle of dye, another $2 or $3 for an old Salvation Army pair of shoes, and have at it in various ways until you approve of the results.

You could probably go darker or change the hue.

I doubt you could go lighter or do a complete color change.

Anyone have experience with successfully dyeing leather shoes? It's probably best to have it done by a professional i so where can I get this done? I am looking for dying some tan shoes black.

TIA.

There is a dyeing thread in the DIY forum

Seen some questions on leather there

Cheers
