is the devil wears prada a random moment from fashion history?
The book? Yes! It took an entitled assistant to write a fairly mediocre (but entertaining) book to create that phenomenon lolis the devil wears prada a random moment from fashion history?
The inspiration was Russian matryochka nesting dolls, but I think it came out wrong. People online say it looks like a condom.Cute, but phallic.
did it come with a reveal?
This aesthetically controversial 1965 wedding dress by Yves Saint Laurent.
Not that I know of, that was it.did it come with a reveal?
This also reminded me of a book I skimmed by another WWD editor/journalist, James Brady. I haven't read the whole book, but there's a funny description of a party in Paris he threw and it sounded so. Awkward. Everyone basically avoided each other the entire evening. The only designer everyone got along with in the story was Gerard Pipart. One thing that I miss from back in the days was the competitive aspect of fashion. They mostly all hated each others and were super competitive.
It’s like I don’t know who told the story (maybe Karl) about the State dinner for the designers and people from the fashion industry held by François Mitterand back in the day where the ambiance was terrible because all those designers hated each others. This also reminded me of a book I skimmed by another WWD editor/journalist, James Brady. There are these awkward videos of various designers at the palais de l'Elysée and, well... the body language is something else. It’s like I don’t know who told the story (maybe Karl) about the State dinner for the designers and people from the fashion industry held by François Mitterand back in the day where the ambiance was terrible because all those designers hated each others.
Just the fact that they felt the need to bring their celebrity muses is telling. Being by themselves around each others would have been too much for them lolThere are these awkward videos of various designers at the palais de l'Elysée and, well... the body language is something else.

I´d say it was the opposite: Madame Grès protecting YSL from the rest of designers...These photos where Yves looks like he's trying to protect Mme Grès from the other designers
