That is a really distorted view (but not your fault.) Her skin here looks like that of an untouched twentysomething... How warped we view women and aging.

She does look old, but I don't mind that. Christy appears to have taken Mikael's Daria formula (looks like he had her in mind), and added her own brand of cheerfulness and great posing to it. This perception is what the supers are known for. Love the styling.
