You can't be sure of that, heels are making a comeback it looks like! (god please not another go-round with the stupid 5 inch high heels of the late 00s that every girl lied and said were "comfy enough to run for the bus in"). I guess people want to g oout and party and think of foot pain as being part of that, or a price worth paying for being temporarily taller.
I can walk comfortably in a low heel under 2 inches, but I'm grateful that the options for women's non-heeled footwear expanded a bit over the last decade. Loafers might not be "pretty" but they are comfortable and can look smart, same with a well made brogue or oxford. And sneakers/trainers don't have to be ugly anymore, the retro or classic suede type may not be "pretty" but they can look stylish.
